Manawishi (Ahmed), renowned Egyptian artist, works alternately from Brussels and Beirut. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Cairo Academy of Fine Arts, with top honours.
During his studies, Manawishi was commissioned to produce a series of paintings depicting the historical battles of the Egyptian Navy, which continue to be exhibited in one of the main attractions of the capital: the citadel of Cairo.
After his studies he moved to Italy for two years where he was successful in building his career as a scenographer. Back in Egypt, his new project ‘Aroma’ turned out to become a stepping stone for young people pursuing a career in visual arts.

The success of Aroma enabled Manawishi to take a step back from the corporate world and return to his true passion: painting.
While exploring his visual language, life and love took Manawishi from Cairo to Brussels and now Beirut.
This is where he successfully organised the exhibition ‘Modern Mythologies’ at L’atelier by Maher Attar.
